Staff Guide: This guide will show you how to find and self-enrol onto Blackboard Ultra Exemplar Courses
What is an Exemplar Course?
The purpose of an exemplar course is to provide an example of how you could set up your Blackboard module on Blackboard Ultra. Currently, Blackboard Ultra modules are provisioned with a course template which follows Blackboard Universal Standards, the expected minimum standards for module (course) structure and organisation within the University’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
Staff are able to self-enrol onto an exemplar course with the role of student so that they can experience Ultra from the point of view of a learner.
What Exemplar Courses are available?

More exemplar modules are coming soon.
How do I self-enrol on an Exemplar Course?
On Blackboard, select Courses on the lefthand menu to access your Course List. Then select Course Catalogue in the top righthand corner of the screen.
Select Course ID and after Contains type the Exemplar ID Code, for example EXEMPLAR1-ULTRA-FILM, then select Go.
The required course will appear in the box below. If you only use part of the Course ID then several courses may appear, check that you are selecting the correct course. Hover your mouse icon over the Course ID and select the dropdown arrow that appears. Select enrol.
Confirm course details are correct and select Submit in the bottom right hand corner to confirm that you wish to be enrolled as a student on this course. Note: you cannot self-unenrol and need to raise a serviceline ticket to remove yourself from this course.
You should see a success notification which confirms that you have been enrolled on the course with a student role. Select OK to access the course. Alternatively, you will now find the course in your course list under the heading of Induction, Training and Further Resources or just by searching your course list.
