From 1 July 2024, eFolio will be deactivated and no longer available to our teaching staff and students. This means no teaching (module or personal blogs) will take place on eFolio for the next academic year (2024/25).
Why is this happening?
eFolio will no longer receive software updates, making the platform out-of-date and a potential security risk. We are also aware that many of our staff and students already use more modern and secure teaching tools, such as Blackboard or Microsoft 365.
What do I need to do?
If you are a student currently using or have previously used eFolio, you may want to keep copies of your work and personal data before the access is removed.
I am a Medicine student using eFolio for skills & competencies and appraisals, what should I do?
You do not need to do anything at the moment, you should continue using eFolio and accessing and uploading your skills, competencies and appraisals, but also keep a back-up electronic copy yourself.
An alternative platform will be in place for the next academic year (2024/25). More information on how to access this platform will be shared with the relevant students nearer the time.
I participate in an eFolio blog for module teaching, what should I do?
From 1 July 2024, you will lose access to any teaching content you have previously viewed or participated in on eFolio.
If you wish to keep sections of any eFolio webpages to review, most internet browsers will allow you to save a webpage as HTML to your computer, or you can print a webpage to PDF
Your teaching staff will inform you where to find your module content and assessment for the next academic year.
If you have a personal efolio blog
From 1 July 2024, you will lose access to any personal sites hosted on eFolio. If you are a blog owner, you can export blog content as a XML or PDF file on the WordPress Dashboard. To do this, please:
- Log into efolio.
- Select “My Sites” and then the dashboard of the site you wish to export.
- Select “Tools” from the left-hand menu.
- Select “Export” to export as XML or “PDF Creator” to export a PDF of your site.
I cannot find my blog or log in to efolio
You can log into efolio using your University username and password. Please select “Forgotten your username or password?” if you are having issues logging in.
If you would like to keep a copy of your work but cannot locate it or log in, please submit a ticket with ServiceLine for the attention of the Education Application Support team.
