Blackboard Ultra – Create a shareable link to your Blackboard course

Staff Guide: How to direct students to your course and the different items within it. How to share a short and accessible link to students.

  • Go to the Blackboard course.
  • Copy the URL address of the course page. Right-click (Shift-F10) inside the address bar and select copy.

You can create shorter links with the UoS URL shortening service.

If the course is set to Self-Enrol, you can send any course URL to students and they will see a self-enrollment page. From there, students can join the course by selecting Submit.

Only recipeients with a University of Southampton IT account will be able to self-enrol. They will be prompted to log in to Blackboard before they can enrol on the course.

Use Course Links to create internal shortcuts within a course.

Embed the link in text that can be read out by a screenreader, rather than just pasting the ULR. Highlight some descriptive text and then select add link from the text editor menu.

If the link is sent outside of Blackboard, the recipient is required to log into Learn.
