What is the Content Market?

The Content Market is the location for tools that can are integrated with Blackboard to enhance the online learning experience. Some tools are provided by other services for example, Panopto and Turnitin, whilst there are also specfic institution tools which are designed, built and supported by our own Software engineers e.g. Photo Roster and Student Support Recommendations.

Many tools in the Content Market require users to enable third party cookies so that authentication can be tracked from Blackboard to the tool. For more information, see this Knowledgebase article about how to enable third party cookies.

What Tools are available in Content Market?

Not all tools are available to all staff/students at the University as some as specific to courses and/or Faculties. Here are all potential tools available, if you think you should have access to a tool but cannot see it in Content Market, please raise a ticket with Serviceline.

Accessibility Summary

The course accessibility summary reports on the accessibility of certain content and files that are on a Blackboard Course. It provides an overal picture of accessibility as well as specific details about the digital content on your course.

Panopto

Availablility: All

Panopto is a lecture capture and media streaming system that allows you to capture your presentation or lecture in real time and upload it to the cloud, where it can be shared out to Blackboard or other websites to be played back on many devices. It can also be used for media storage, live streaming content and for student video submissions.

JoVE

Availability: All

JoVE creates the ultimate solutions for advancing research and science education by making and publishing videos of scientific experiments from the top laboratories around the globe. The subscription is managed via Library Subscriptions.

JoVE videos can be added by selecting the plus icon, Content Market and then JoVE on the list of available tools. Browse videos and select to add to your course. When selecting multiple videos, resources will appear as a list in your course.

LearnSci

LearnSci is a learning resource containing interactive lab simulations and digital worksheets that enable self-led learning and improvement.

LinkedIn Learning

Support: Digital Learning

LinkedIn Learning provides access to a library of over 15,000 courses on a huge range of topics to develop professional, technical and creative skills.

Microsoft OneDrive

Microsoft OneDrive allows you to share files and folders from a location on the OneDrive. Please check Manage Access settings to ensure that you are sharing only what is required with students.

Module Profile

Noteable Computational Notebooks

EDINA’s Noteable is a cloud-based application providing access to Jupyter notebooks, developed and supported by EDINA, the University of Edinburgh.

Past Exam Papers

Available: All
Subscription: In House
Support: Library

A link to Past Exam Papers is included in the Ultra template in the Assessments Learning Module. The list is hidden by default but can be made available for students if required. Content is managed by the Hartley Library team.

Photo Roster

Allows instructors (and other authorised roles) to view student ID card photos of students on your course. You can also print off lists of students as required.

Reading List

Online reading lists (currently Talis) can be added to a Blackboard course to enable students to link directly to resources available from the library.

Student Support Recommendations

Allows instructors (and other authorised roles) to view students whi have Additional Exam Requirements (AER) as listed in Banner and/or a Student Support Recommendations (SSR) document as provided by the Student Disability and Inclusion team.

Teams Integration

Creating a Class Team is another way to communicate with your students and encourage 2-way discussion and collaboration and a place to host online teaching sessions and meetings.

Turnitin

This third party assessment tool allows student submission via a Blackboard course which checks assignments with the similarity report and allows marking using the Feedback studio.
